Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Waterford, Ireland
About the Role An established and growing organisation within the construction and infrastructure sector is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its team in Waterford. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional to take a lead role in managing project costs, contracts, and financial performance across a range of high-quality projects.
Key Responsibilities - Manage all aspects of cost planning, budgeting, and financial control
- Prepare tender documents, bills of quantities, and contract documentation
- Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier agreements
- Monitor project progress and provide accurate cost reporting and forecasting
- Identify and manage risks, variations, and value engineering opportunities
- Ensure projects are delivered within budget while maintaining high standards
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery
- Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team
Requirements - Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and cost management practices
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools
- Membership of a professional body (e.g. SCSI/RICS) is desirable
