A leading Tier 1 infrastructure and engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its growing team in Cork.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on major infrastructure, energy, utilities, and civil engineering projects across Ireland, supporting the commercial delivery of high-value schemes from pre-construction through to final account.
The Role Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of projects, ensuring costs are effectively controlled while maximising value and maintaining strong client and supply chain relationships.
Key Responsibilities - Managing all commercial aspects of projects from tender stage through to completion.
- Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and subcontract agreements.
- Monitoring project costs, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
- Identifying commercial risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Managing subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Preparing and submitting client valuations and applications for payment.
- Producing accurate commercial reports and forecasts for senior management.
- Supporting project teams in achieving financial and operational objectives.
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
Candidate Requirements - Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor role within infrastructure, civil engineering, utilities, energy, or major construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract and commercial practices.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work collaboratively within project teams.
- Experience managing subcontractor accounts and project financial reporting.
- Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
