OCS are currently working with a leading specialist contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Engineer to join their team on a major 14-storey extension to an existing hospital in Central London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer with a solid RC Frame background to work closely with the Project Manager and wider site team on a complex and high-profile project.

The Role
As Senior Engineer, you will work closely with the Project Manager and take responsibility for the engineering and technical delivery of the project.
  • Working closely with the Project Manager to deliver the project successfully.
  • Managing all engineering and technical aspects of the RC Frame works.
  • Setting out and surveying to ensure works are delivered accurately and to specification.
  • Reviewing construction drawings, specifications and technical information.
  • Coordinating with consultants, subcontractors and the wider project team.
  • Raising and resolving RFIs and technical queries.
  • Managing technical submissions and ensuring design information is available when required.
  • Monitoring quality and ensuring works are constructed in accordance with the design.
  • Supporting the project programme and coordinating engineering activities.
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues on site.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to junior engineers.
  • Maintaining accurate engineering records and documentation.
About You To be considered for this position, you must have:
  • An Engineering Degree – Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working on RC Frame projects.
  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer / Senior Engineer within the RC Frame sector.
  • Strong setting-out and surveying experience.
  • Excellent understanding of reinforced concrete construction and structural frame methodology.
  • Experience working on large-scale, multi-storey projects.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team.
The Project
The project involves the construction of a 14-storey extension to an existing hospital in Central London, making this a technically challenging project requiring an experienced engineering professional with a strong understanding of RC Frame construction.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager and will play a key role in the day-to-day technical delivery of the project.
