Safety Administrator (Office-Based - Waterford) Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Safety Administrator to join a busy construction support team based in Waterford. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the implementation, monitoring, and administration of health and safety systems across multiple construction projects.
Key Responsibilities - Maintain and update health and safety documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and safety records
- Support the preparation, review, and distribution of safety documentation for ongoing projects
- Assist with the coordination of safety inductions, training records, and certification tracking
- Carry out administrative duties related to audits, inspections, and compliance reporting
- Maintain up-to-date records of incidents, near misses, and corrective actions
- Liaise with site teams to ensure timely submission of safety paperwork
- Assist in preparing reports for internal and external safety audits
- Ensure compliance with relevant Irish health and safety legislation and company procedures
- Provide general administrative support to the Health & Safety team
Requirements - Previous experience in an administrative role (construction or safety environment desirable)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of health and safety practices is an advantage
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable - Experience in a construction or engineering environment
- Familiarity with safety management systems or document control platforms
- Relevant health and safety qualification (e.g., QQI, IOSH, or equivalent)
