Safety Administrator (Office-Based - Waterford)
 
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Safety Administrator to join a busy construction support team based in Waterford. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the implementation, monitoring, and administration of health and safety systems across multiple construction projects.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update health and safety documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and safety records
  • Support the preparation, review, and distribution of safety documentation for ongoing projects
  • Assist with the coordination of safety inductions, training records, and certification tracking
  • Carry out administrative duties related to audits, inspections, and compliance reporting
  • Maintain up-to-date records of incidents, near misses, and corrective actions
  • Liaise with site teams to ensure timely submission of safety paperwork
  • Assist in preparing reports for internal and external safety audits
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Irish health and safety legislation and company procedures
  • Provide general administrative support to the Health & Safety team
Requirements
  • Previous experience in an administrative role (construction or safety environment desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of health and safety practices is an advantage
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
  • Experience in a construction or engineering environment
  • Familiarity with safety management systems or document control platforms
  • Relevant health and safety qualification (e.g., QQI, IOSH, or equivalent)
