We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading cost consultancy team delivering independent commercial and cost management services across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments in Dublin and the surrounding region.
The successful candidate will act on behalf of clients, providing professional cost advice from project inception through to final account, ensuring value for money, cost certainty, and effective commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities - Provide detailed cost planning, feasibility studies, and early-stage budget advice.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Lead and manage the tendering process, including preparation of tender documentation and analysis of returns.
- Prepare tender reports and make commercial recommendations to clients.
- Administer construction contracts under standard forms (e.g. JCT / RIAI / NEC as applicable).
- Undertake valuation of works and certify interim payments.
- Assess, negotiate, and agree variations, claims, and final accounts.
- Provide ongoing cost advice and commercial support to clients and design teams.
- Carry out value engineering and risk analysis exercises throughout project stages.
- Attend site meetings and liaise with contractors, clients, and consultants.
- Maintain accurate financial reporting, forecasts, and cost control documentation.
- Ensure compliance with procurement strategy and best practice cost consultancy standards.
Requirements - Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years’ experience within a PQS / cost consultancy environment.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and cost management principles.
- Experience across residential, commercial, and/or mixed-use projects.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and QS software (e.g. CostX, Buildsoft, Cubit, or similar).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and professional client-facing experience.
- Full driving licence desirable for site visits.
