We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor with 2-4 years' experience to join an established and growing construction business based in Cork.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to further develop their commercial and project management experience while working across a range of construction projects.
The Role The successful candidate will work closely with the commercial and project teams, supporting the financial and contractual management of projects from tender stage through to completion.
Key responsibilities include: - Preparing and reviewing project cost estimates, budgets and forecasts
- Assisting with tendering, procurement and subcontractor selection
- Preparing and managing subcontractor packages
- Reviewing and agreeing variations, valuations and payment applications
- Monitoring project costs and maintaining accurate cost reports
- Preparing interim valuations and final accounts
- Assisting with contract administration and commercial reporting
- Managing subcontractor accounts and ensuring payments are accurately assessed
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle
- Working closely with project managers, site teams, clients, consultants and subcontractors
- Ensuring projects are delivered in line with agreed budgets and commercial objectives
- Maintaining accurate project documentation and records
Requirements - Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline
- 2-4 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role
- Experience within the construction or building sector
- Good understanding of construction contracts, procurement and commercial processes
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Full driving licence is desirable
