Purchasing Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join a well-established and growing engineering organisation based in Dublin.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the procurement function, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, equipment, and services while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting project delivery.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimise cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate material requirements with project teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
  • Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and industry standards.
  • Analyse purchasing data and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Lead and support the purchasing team where applicable.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a Purchasing Manager or Senior Buyer role, ideally within engineering, manufacturing, construction, or industrial sectors.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
  • Commercial awareness with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
