We are currently seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established construction and engineering company based in Limerick.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an early-career Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their commercial and cost management experience within a busy construction environment. You will work closely with experienced Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers and the wider project team, gaining exposure to a range of commercial activities from tendering through to project completion.
Key Responsibilities - Assist with the preparation and review of tenders, quotations and cost estimates.
- Support the preparation and submission of interim valuations and payment applications.
- Assist with cost control, forecasting and reporting throughout projects.
- Assist in the preparation and management of subcontractor and supplier accounts.
- Review subcontractor and supplier quotations and assist with procurement.
- Assist with measuring quantities and preparing bills of quantities.
- Monitor project costs and identify potential variations or commercial risks.
- Assist with the preparation and assessment of variations and claims.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation.
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, clients and the project team.
- Support senior Quantity Surveyors with monthly commercial reporting.
- Ensure commercial procedures and company policies are followed.
- Assist with the financial close-out of projects.
Requirements - Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
- Ideally 0-2 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial role, although strong graduates will be considered.
- Good understanding of construction principles and commercial processes.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage competing priorities.
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- A full driving licence would be advantageous.
