About the Company
Our client is an established specialist contractor operating within the façade and architectural building envelope sector, delivering high-quality solutions across a range of commercial, residential and large-scale construction projects.
Their specialist product range includes bespoke unitised curtain wall systems, steel and glass systems, solar shading solutions, metal, terracotta and stone cladding, windows, doors and louvres.
Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Dublin.

About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or junior Quantity Surveyor to develop their career within a specialist façade contracting environment.
Working alongside experienced commercial and project professionals, you will support the financial, contractual and commercial management of façade and building envelope projects from tender stage through to completion.
You will gain valuable experience across estimating, procurement, cost control, valuations, subcontractor management, variations, forecasting and final accounts, while developing your understanding of the specialist façade construction sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of project budgets, estimates and cost plans.
• Support the preparation and submission of tenders and quotations.
• Review drawings, specifications and project documentation to assist with pricing.
• Assist with taking-off quantities and preparing bills of quantities where required.
• Assist with the pricing of façade, curtain walling, cladding and associated building envelope works.
• Prepare and issue enquiries to subcontractors, suppliers and specialist manufacturers.
• Obtain, review and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Assist with procurement of materials, specialist systems and subcontractor packages.
• Monitor project costs, commitments and expenditure against agreed budgets.
• Assist with monthly valuations and payment applications.
• Review subcontractor applications for payment and supporting documentation.
• Assist with the preparation, submission and agreement of variations and change orders.
• Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations, orders and commitments.
• Assist with project forecasting and cash-flow monitoring.
• Support the preparation and agreement of subcontractor final accounts.
• Assist with the preparation of client final accounts.
• Identify potential commercial risks and opportunities and report these to the senior commercial team.
• Work closely with project managers, site teams, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients.
• Assist with monthly commercial reporting.
• Ensure commercial and contractual procedures are followed throughout the project lifecycle.

Projects & Technical Exposure
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop commercial experience across a range of architectural façade and building envelope systems, potentially including:

• Unitised curtain walling systems
• Curtain walling and glazed façades
• Steel and glass systems
• Metal cladding
• Terracotta cladding
• Natural stone cladding
• Windows and doors
• Louvres
• Solar shading and sun-screening systems
• Associated façade and building envelope works

Requirements

• Degree or higher qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
• Graduate or junior-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Previous experience within construction, façade, cladding or a related specialist contracting environment would be advantageous.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a commercial and project team.
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Full driving licence would be advantageous.

This role would suit a recent Quantity Surveying graduate, or someone with some commercial/construction experience who is looking to take the next step in their career within a specialist contracting environment.
