Junior Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing construction business based in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an individual with some experience in Quantity Surveying who is looking to develop their career within the construction and roofing sector.
Working closely with the commercial and project teams, you will support the management of costs, procurement, contracts and financial reporting across a range of projects.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation of project cost estimates, budgets and tender submissions.
  • Review drawings, specifications and other project documentation to identify quantities and costs.
  • Assist with taking off quantities and preparing Bills of Quantities.
  • Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Assist with subcontractor and supplier procurement.
  • Monitor project costs and expenditure throughout the construction process.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of payment applications.
  • Assist with measuring completed works and assessing variations.
  • Support the preparation of monthly cost reports and forecasts.
  • Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations and contractual documentation.
  • Assist with final accounts and project close-out.
  • Liaise with project managers, site teams, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure commercial information is recorded accurately and submitted within required deadlines.
  • Carry out general commercial and administrative duties as required.
Requirements
  • Degree, diploma or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
  • Previous construction experience would be advantageous, but graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a wider team.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • A willingness to learn and develop within the role.
  • Full driving licence would be an advantage.
