Health, Safety & Quality Manager

OCS Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Health, Safety & Quality Manager to join a well-established and growing contractor operating within the construction and civil engineering sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven SHEQ professional to play a key role in promoting and maintaining the highest standards of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance across multiple projects and operational teams.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the existing SHEQ function across the business
  • Promote a positive and proactive safety culture throughout all operations and projects
  • Conduct regular site audits and inspections, both formal and informal
  • Analyse safety performance data and identify trends to support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop, review and maintain Health & Safety policies, procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work in line with current legislation
  • Prepare project-specific Health & Safety Plans
  • Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, ensuring appropriate reporting and corrective actions are implemented
  • Deliver site inductions and support internal training programmes
  • Lead toolbox talks, awareness campaigns and internal SHEQ communications
  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of ISO and Safe-T-Cert management systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Liaise closely with senior management, clients, subcontractors and operational teams to ensure best practice standards are consistently achieved
Requirements
  • Minimum Level 7 qualification in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Previous experience in a similar SHEQ role within construction or civil engineering
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Excellent IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office
  • Experience using SHEQ management systems is advantageous
  • Full clean driving licence required
