Introduction
OCS Recruitment is partnering with a well-established and growing Health & Safety consultancy to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Consultant. This is a varied and hands-on role offering exposure to a broad range of sectors and project types.
The successful candidate will work across multiple client sites, supporting the delivery of high-quality safety services including PSDP/PSCS duties, contractor management, audits, and advisory support. This position is ideal for a motivated professional who enjoys a dynamic environment and wants to further develop their career within consultancy.
The Role
This is a diverse position involving both site-based and client-facing responsibilities across multiple projects and industries.
Key duties include:
- Acting as Safety Officer across a range of construction and industrial sites, ensuring compliance with current health & safety legislation
- Performing PSDP and PSCS coordination duties, supporting clients through both design and construction phases
- Planning, conducting, and reporting on site audits and inspections, identifying risks and ensuring corrective actions are implemented
- Managing contractor safety performance, including pre-qualification, onboarding, and ongoing compliance monitoring
- Preparing and reviewing risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and safe systems of work
- Delivering toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety training to site personnel and subcontractors
- Supporting incident and accident investigations, including root cause analysis and follow-up actions
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on all EHS matters
- Assisting with the development and implementation of safety management systems and continuous improvement initiatives
- Providing ongoing guidance to clients on regulatory compliance and best practice
The Candidate
Essential Requirements:
- Level 7/8 qualification in Health & Safety (aligned with the Irish QQI framework)
- 3-5 years' experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally within consultancy or multi-site environments
- Strong construction experience across a mix of sectors such as residential, commercial, civil/structural, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing
- Solid IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, with the ability to produce clear reports and documentation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and site teams
Desirable:
- Experience carrying out PSDP and/or PSCS roles
- Previous consultancy or multi-client experience
