About the Role
 
OCS Recruitment is currently working with a leading international civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Advisor for a large-scale data centre development in Frankfurt, Germany.
This role will focus on overseeing health and safety compliance across civil engineering works including groundworks, drainage, utilities, earthworks, and heavy plant operations on a major hyperscale data centre project.
The successful candidate will work closely with project management and site teams to ensure that all works are carried out safely, in line with company procedures, client requirements, and EU health & safety legislation.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Promote a strong health and safety culture across all civil engineering activities on site.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety walk-throughs.
• Ensure compliance with EU safety legislation, project standards, and company HSEQ systems.
• Assist in the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
• Monitor works involving groundworks, excavations, utilities installation, drainage, and heavy plant operations.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and site inductions for site personnel and subcontractors.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, implementing corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and compliance records.
• Work closely with site management, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure safe working practices.
• Support the ongoing development and implementation of project HSEQ procedures.

Requirements

• Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in civil engineering or construction projects.
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or data centre projects is advantageous but not required.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a large multidisciplinary construction team.
