Job Title: Health & Safety Advisor - Dublin

About the Client
Our client is one of Ireland's premier construction companies, established over 35 years ago and recognised industry-wide for excellence in construction, fit-out, and refurbishment. They have successfully delivered high-quality projects across the residential, healthcare, education, commercial, industrial, conservation, and hotel & leisure sectors. With a reputation built on close working relationships, trust, and timely project delivery, they are now looking to recruit a Health & Safety Advisor to join their team in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified H&S professional to join a well-established and highly regarded main contractor.

The Role
The Health & Safety Advisor will report to the HSEQ Manager and be responsible for supporting the safe delivery of multiple construction projects across the Dublin region. You will work closely with site management teams, subcontractors, and design teams to ensure a proactive safety culture is maintained across all sites. This role is suited to someone who takes a partnership approach — collaborating with project teams to embed best practice while ensuring full compliance with statutory obligations.

Key Duties
Safety Management & Compliance:
  • Provide competent H&S advice and guidance to project teams, subcontractors, and site personnel.
  • Ensure all sites operate in full compliance with current health, safety, and welfare legislation, including HSA requirements.
  • Support the preparation, review, and approval of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
Site Audits & Inspections:
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety tours to identify hazards, monitor compliance, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Prepare reports and track corrective actions through to closure.
Training & Induction:
  • Coordinate and deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions in collaboration with site management.
  • Promote a culture where every worker understands their role in maintaining a safe environment.
Incident Management:
  • Lead or support incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis is thorough and corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Maintain accurate incident records and assist with reporting to relevant authorities where required.
ISO & Quality Systems:
  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits.
Subcontractor Management:
  • Review subcontractor safety documentation and monitor onsite performance against agreed standards.
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Health & Safety role within the construction industry (main contractor experience highly desirable).
  • Recognised third-level qualification in Health & Safety (e.g., BSc in Health & Safety or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation, HSA regulations, and construction-specific safety requirements.
  • Experience working with ISO management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — confident engaging with site teams, subcontractors, and senior management.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple sites simultaneously.
Required Certifications
  • SafePass
  • Manual Handling
  • Full Clean Driving Licence
Desirable (but not essential)
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • Internal Auditor qualification.
  • Experience in healthcare, education, or refurbishment projects.
What's on Offer
  • Opportunity to work with a premier main contractor with an excellent industry reputation.
  • A supportive, collaborative working environment with a strong safety culture.
  • Exposure to a diverse range of high-quality projects across multiple sectors.
  • Career development and progression opportunities within a growing organisation.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
