Location: Limerick, Cork & Waterford (Multi-site role)

About the Role
OCS Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor on behalf of a leading civil engineering contractor operating across the Limerick, Cork, and Waterford regions. This role will involve supporting and overseeing health and safety compliance across multiple active construction sites, primarily working on projects delivered under ESB and Irish Water frameworks.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all works are carried out safely, in full compliance with company procedures, client safety standards, and relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote a strong safety culture across all project sites.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Support site management teams with the implementation of safe systems of work.
- Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments (RAMS), and safety documentation.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, preparing reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings to site personnel.
- Liaise with project managers, site supervisors, and client representatives regarding safety matters.
- Monitor compliance with company HSEQ policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Level 8 qualification or higher in Occupational Health & Safety (or related discipline).
- Full clean driver's licence (essential).
- Previous experience in a construction or civil engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
- Experience working with utilities frameworks or large infrastructure projects is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple sites.
