A leading construction and civil engineering contractor is seeking a motivated Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in Cork.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Quantity Surveying graduate to begin their career with a well-established organisation delivering high-profile building, infrastructure, and civil engineering projects across Ireland. The successful candidate will gain valuable hands-on experience while working alongside experienced commercial professionals in a supportive environment focused on learning and career development.
 
The Role
As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to completion. You will work closely with project teams and senior commercial staff to develop your technical, contractual, and financial knowledge while contributing to the successful delivery of projects.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and project forecasts.
  • Supporting the measurement and valuation of works completed on site.
  • Assisting with subcontractor procurement and administration.
  • Preparing and reviewing interim valuations and payment applications.
  • Monitoring project costs and helping identify commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Supporting the preparation of variations, claims, and final accounts.
  • Assisting with cost reporting and commercial documentation.
  • Maintaining accurate project records and commercial files.
  • Liaising with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Ensuring compliance with contractual and company procedures.
Candidate Requirements
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related construction discipline.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career within the construction and engineering industry.
  • Good numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Full driving licence preferred but not essential.
