A well-established construction company based in County Clare is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and supporting the tendering process across a range of construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to work on diverse projects within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects from drawings and specifications
- Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope
- Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Prepare Bills of Quantities and cost breakdowns
- Identify risks and opportunities within tender submissions
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams
- Assist in the preparation and submission of competitive tenders
- Maintain accurate records of estimates and tender documentation
- Monitor project costs and provide input during project handover to the delivery team
- Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
- Previous experience in an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor role within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Excel and estimating software
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
- Experience working on residential, commercial, or civil construction projects
- Knowledge of Irish construction regulations and tendering procedures
