EHS Advisor / EHS Manager - Cork
Location: Cork (Multi-Site)
Employment Type: Permanent
 
OCS Recruitment is working with a well-established residential contractor to recruit an EHS Advisor / EHS Manager for a standalone Health, Safety & Environmental role based in Cork.
 
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the company's Health, Safety and Environmental function across approximately five active construction sites throughout Cork. Working closely with Contracts Managers, Site Managers and project teams, you will play a key role in maintaining and continuously improving the company's Safety & Environmental Management System while ensuring compliance across all operations.
 
The successful candidate will be based in Cork and will regularly travel between sites, providing practical HSE support, guidance and leadership to project teams.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation and continual improvement of the company's Safety & Environmental Management System.
  • Visit and monitor approximately five active construction sites across Cork.
  • Work closely with Contracts Managers, Site Managers and project teams to ensure safe systems of work are implemented and maintained.
  • Carry out regular site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
  • Ensure company activities comply with the Safety Statement, Irish Health & Safety legislation and environmental requirements.
  • Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and provide guidance where required.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses and non-conformances, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and ongoing safety awareness initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate HSE records, reports and statutory documentation.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance and promote a positive safety culture across all projects.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in health, safety and environmental performance.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in an EHS Advisor, EHS Manager or Health & Safety role within the construction industry (residential & commercial experience required).
  • Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
  • Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a standalone HSE position.
  • Full clean driving licence.
