About the Opportunity
OCS Recruitment is partnering with a well-established construction and civil engineering contractor to find an experienced Environment, Health & Safety Manager. This is a strategic leadership role supporting the Irish operations of an organisation with a strong reputation for quality, safety and sustainable delivery across major building and infrastructure projects.
Role Summary
You will report directly to senior leadership and take ownership of the company's EHS strategy and performance across all Irish business units. Your core focus will be to develop, implement and continuously improve robust health, safety and environmental practices that align with regulatory requirements and industry standards. You will lead and mentor the existing EHS team, ensuring a proactive safety culture across project sites and offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of EHS programmes and policies.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable Irish and EU health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Oversee internal and external EHS audits, risk assessments, and site inspections.
- Coordinate incident management, including investigations and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate EHS best practices into operations.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive EHS training and awareness programmes.
- Prepare and present management reports on performance, risks, and improvement initiatives.
About You - Skills & Experience
Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
- Significant experience (minimum ~10 years) in EHS roles within the construction industry.
- Proven leadership experience (at least 3+ years) managing EHS functions.
- Strong understanding of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A proactive, continuous-improvement mindset with high attention to detail.
