EHS Advisor (x2) - Athlone
 
OCS Recruitment is currently seeking two experienced EHS Advisors on behalf of a leading main contractor for a major pharmaceutical construction project based in Athlone.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering a high-profile project within a live pharmaceutical environment. Due to project requirements, we are looking for experienced professionals who can contribute immediately and help maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance on site.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the project's Health, Safety & Environmental Management System.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying hazards and ensuring corrective actions are completed.
  • Promote a positive safety culture across all site personnel, subcontractors, and visitors.
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
  • Carry out risk assessments and review method statements (RAMS) to ensure safe systems of work are in place.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, producing reports and recommending corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with Irish health and safety legislation, company procedures, and client requirements.
  • Maintain accurate HSE records and documentation.
  • Work closely with site management to provide practical health and safety advice throughout the construction programme.
  • Liaise with subcontractors to ensure all activities are carried out safely and in accordance with project standards.
Requirements
  • 4-5+ years' experience in an EHS/Health & Safety role within the construction industry.
  • Previous experience working on pharmaceutical construction projects is essential.
  • Strong understanding of Irish health and safety legislation.
  • Relevant Health & Safety qualification (Degree, Diploma or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work proactively and independently on a fast-paced construction site.
  • Full driving licence.
