About the Role
OCS Recruitment is partnering with a leading specialist engineering and project delivery organisation to recruit an experienced EHS Advisor to support the successful delivery of projects across pharmaceutical manufacturing sites in Cork.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive health, safety and environmental professional who enjoys working in fast-paced, highly regulated environments. The role will involve regular travel between project locations, ensuring the highest standards of EHS compliance are maintained while supporting operational teams throughout project execution.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day EHS support across multiple pharmaceutical project sites.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership and engagement with site teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Irish health and safety legislation, client standards and internal company procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety observations, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
  • Support risk assessments, method statements and permit-to-work processes.
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses and non-conformances, preparing reports and recommending preventative measures.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure safe systems of work are consistently followed.
  • Maintain accurate EHS documentation and project records.
  • Liaise with project managers, supervisors, clients and subcontractors to ensure EHS objectives are achieved.
  • Assist with emergency preparedness and response planning where required.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all project activities.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an Environmental, Health & Safety role within construction.
  • Previous experience working on construction pharmaceutical, life sciences, biotechnology or other highly regulated industrial projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
  • Experience conducting site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence positive safety behaviours across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel between project locations throughout Cork.
  • Relevant third-level qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • Additional professional certifications (NEBOSH, Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, IOSH or equivalent) are advantageous.
