Our client is a leading building services and engineering contractor with an established reputation for delivering complex and high-profile construction projects across London and the South East. The business delivers large-scale mechanical, electrical, and public health projects.


The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within a supportive and fast-paced construction environment. Working alongside experienced commercial professionals, you will gain exposure to major construction and M&E projects while assisting with the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the commercial management of construction projects
  • Supporting the preparation of valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Monitoring project costs and reporting on commercial performance
  • Assisting with subcontractor procurement and account management
  • Preparing and reviewing payment applications
  • Supporting cost forecasting and budgeting activities
  • Liaising with project teams, subcontractors, and clients
  • Ensuring commercial processes and procedures are followed
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
  • Minimum 1 year postgraduate experience within the construction industry
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • Eagerness to learn and progress within a commercial role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience within M&E or main contracting environments would be advantageous
