A leading infrastructure and engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join its finance team based in Kildare.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional to become part of a dynamic and growing business, supporting the efficient operation of the accounts payable function while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent supplier relationships.
 
The Role
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing supplier invoices, managing payment runs, reconciling accounts, and supporting the wider finance team in delivering a high-quality financial service.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Processing a high volume of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Matching purchase orders, goods received notes, and invoices.
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Preparing and processing weekly and monthly payment runs.
  • Managing supplier queries and maintaining strong working relationships with vendors.
  • Ensuring all invoices are coded correctly and approved in accordance with company procedures.
  • Assisting with month-end close activities and reporting requirements.
  • Supporting internal and external audits by providing relevant documentation and information.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and efficiencies.
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or Finance Administration role.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial controls.
  • Experience working with ERP or accounting systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working within construction, engineering, infrastructure, or a similar project-based environment would be advantageous.
