We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of a busy and growing organisation. The successful candidate will assist with a wide range of accounting and administrative tasks, ensuring accurate financial records and supporting the finance team in maintaining efficient processes.
Key Responsibilities - Process purchase invoices, supplier statements, and expense claims.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices and credit notes.
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers.
- Reconcile bank accounts and supplier/customer accounts.
- Assist with monthly management accounts preparation.
- Process payments and monitor cash flow activities.
- Support payroll administration and related documentation.
- Prepare VAT returns and assist with statutory reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal departments regarding account queries.
- Assist with audits and year-end financial procedures.
- Perform general administrative duties as required by the finance department.
Requirements - Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeper, or Finance Administration role.
- Relevant accounting qualification (ATI, Accounting Technician, or equivalent) desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Skills - Experience using Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar accounting systems.
- Knowledge of Irish VAT and payroll procedures.
- Experience working in a fast-paced office environment.
