We are hiring a site storeman for a residential contractor to be based in Cork.
Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Storeman responsible for managing the storage, distribution, and inventory of materials and equipment on our construction site in Cork. This role ensures that all materials are available when needed and that the storage area is organised and secure.
Roles and Responsibilities: - Maintain accurate records of all materials, conduct stock checks, monitor stock levels and order materials as required and keep a system to track and manage stock.
- Create a system of records with dockets/orders/requests and ensure these are filed and kept securely.
- Receive and check deliveries against dockets / purchase orders and report discrepancies to the supplier with follow up if needed.
- Ensure materials are stored appropriately and safely for easy access, retrieval and re-stocking.
- Manage requests for stock to subcontractors/team on site and prepare same for distribution.
- Keep the storerooms clean, organised and structured to avoid damage / loss.
- Work closely with the management team, subcontractors and suppliers to maintain a good flow of materials on the site.
- Prepare and submit reports as requested to management/line manager.
Safety procedures are to be followed and maintained around the stores area.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required - Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Computer literate with proficiency in inventory management a plus
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy materials. Must be willing and able to work in various weather conditions
- Certifications: Safe Pass/CSR and Manual handling certificates are mandatory for this role. Other experienced operator tickets are beneficial but not a requirement
