The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor for a key role based in Clare. This is a senior-level position offering full commercial responsibility on a variety of construction projects. The role is ideal for a commercially-minded QS looking to lead financial and contractual management, working closely with project teams, senior management, and clients.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Take full ownership of the commercial management of construction projects from pre-contract through to final account.
  • Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Lead procurement, negotiation, and management of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Manage valuations, applications for payment, variations, claims, and final accounts.
  • Provide accurate monthly reporting on project financial performance to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and protect the company's commercial interests.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with project managers, site teams, consultants, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior and intermediate quantity surveyors.
  • Support tendering, estimating, and pre-construction activities as required.
Requirements
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
  • Minimum of 7+ years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with senior-level responsibility on construction projects.
  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge across building or civil engineering projects.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and subcontractor packages.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant cost management software.
  • Full, clean driver's licence.
