Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Opportunity
We are currently working with a well-established and growing construction contractor to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor for a key role based in Dublin. This is a senior-level position offering full commercial responsibility across projects and direct involvement with senior management. The role will suit a commercially astute professional looking for long-term career progression within a stable and respected organisation.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Take full commercial ownership of multiple construction projects from pre-contract through to final account.
  • Prepare and manage detailed cost plans, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Lead subcontractor procurement, negotiation, appointment, and commercial management.
  • Manage valuations, applications for payment, variations, claims, and final accounts.
  • Provide accurate monthly cost and value reporting to senior management.
  • Ensure contractual compliance and protect the company's commercial position throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities proactively.
  • Work closely with project managers, site teams, consultants, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide mentoring, guidance, and leadership to junior and intermediate quantity surveyors.
  • Support tendering, estimating, and pre-construction activities as required.
Requirements
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
  • Minimum of 7+ years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the construction sector, including senior-level responsibility.
  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge across building projects.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and large subcontractor packages.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant cost management systems.
  • Full, clean driver's licence.
