About the Role: We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading Tier 2 Main Contractor for the position of Senior Quantity Surveyor. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly reputable construction firm with a strong pipeline of work across commercial, healthcare, residential, industrial, and education sectors.
The ideal candidate will be commercially savvy, highly organised, and capable of overseeing all financial and contractual aspects of medium to large-scale projects (€10m–€60m+). This role offers clear career progression with the opportunity to step into a commercial leadership role.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Take full commercial responsibility for designated projects, from pre-construction through to final accounts
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, cost reports, and financial forecasts
  • Procure subcontractors and negotiate contracts
  • Monitor project progress and ensure alignment with cost plans and cash flow
  • Manage monthly valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Provide contractual advice and risk management support to project teams
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure effective cost control
  • Mentor junior surveyors and support their development
  • Ensure compliance with company processes, contracts, and Irish construction regulations
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 6+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying, with at least 2 years at Senior QS level
  • Experience with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor in Ireland or the UK
  • Proven track record on commercial or mixed-use projects in the €10m–€60m+ range
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or similar
  • In-depth knowledge of Irish contract law, RIAI/GCCC forms of contract
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong commercial reporting and cost management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a project delivery team
