Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic engineering team in Tipperary. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing cost, contracts, and procurement processes within large-scale construction or engineering projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to lead and mentor a team of junior surveyors.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, review, and manage detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation.
  • Monitor project expenditure and provide accurate forecasts and financial reporting.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage subcontractor agreements to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Conduct risk analysis and advise on cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Oversee valuation of work done, interim payments, and final account preparation.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop junior quantity surveyors within the team.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years' experience in quantity surveying, preferably in civil engineering or large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish construction contracts (e.g., NEC, FIDIC, or public sector frameworks).
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in industry software (e.g., CostX, AutoCAD, MS Project, or similar).
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
