The Role
An established and growing RC Frame and Groundworks Contractor is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Planner to lead programme development and project planning on multiple complex concrete frame schemes. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale residential and commercial developments, collaborating closely with project delivery teams from tender through to final delivery.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation of tender and construction programmes for RC frame and groundworks packages.
  • Work closely with estimators, engineers, and project managers to analyse drawings, specifications, and logistical constraints.
  • Develop detailed, resource-loaded programmes using Asta Powerproject (or Primavera P6 if required).
  • Monitor and update live construction programmes, tracking progress and identifying potential delays or clashes.
  • Provide scenario planning, mitigation strategies, and recovery schedules where necessary.
  • Attend tender interviews, client meetings, and progress reviews.
  • Create short-term lookahead programmes and integrate subcontractor timelines.
  • Produce and maintain planning documentation including progress reports, S-curves, and critical path analyses.
  • Support the development of planning processes, templates, and systems across the business.
 
The Requirements
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in construction planning, with at least 3 in RC frame/groundworks.
  • Strong understanding of formwork systems, rebar sequencing, concrete pours, and temporary works interfaces.
  • Proficient in Asta Powerproject (essential), with knowledge of Primavera P6 or MS Project as a bonus.
  • Able to read and interpret structural drawings, site logistics plans, and technical specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Methodical approach and strong attention to detail.
  • Based in or able to commute to North West London.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
 
Desirable:
  • HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Experience working with Tier 1 contractors or large subcontractors.
  • CSCS (Manager or Professional), SMSTS (beneficial).
  • Familiarity with BIM integration and 4D planning tools.
