Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our construction team in Kildare. The ideal candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, ensuring projects are financially viable while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities: - Prepare comprehensive and precise cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, plant, and subcontractor costs.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to assess scope and requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to obtain accurate pricing.
- Analyse and evaluate project risks, contingencies, and opportunities to ensure robust estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams to optimize project value and cost efficiency.
- Prepare detailed tender submissions and support negotiation processes.
- Monitor and report on project costs throughout the lifecycle to support budgeting and forecasting.
- Mentor junior estimators and support the continuous development of the estimating team.
Requirements: - Proven experience as a Senior Estimator in construction, ideally in civil, commercial, or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and costs.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
