Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our construction team in Kildare. The ideal candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, ensuring projects are financially viable while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare comprehensive and precise cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, plant, and subcontractor costs.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to assess scope and requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to obtain accurate pricing.
  • Analyse and evaluate project risks, contingencies, and opportunities to ensure robust estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams to optimize project value and cost efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed tender submissions and support negotiation processes.
  • Monitor and report on project costs throughout the lifecycle to support budgeting and forecasting.
  • Mentor junior estimators and support the continuous development of the estimating team.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Senior Estimator in construction, ideally in civil, commercial, or industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and costs.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
