Job Title: Senior Estimator

The Opportunity We are currently recruiting a highly experienced Senior Estimator to join a leading construction team based in Kildare. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded professional to take ownership of estimating activities across a diverse portfolio of projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in securing new work while providing expert cost analysis and commercial advice to project teams and senior management.
Key Responsibilities - Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender documentation for construction projects across multiple sectors.
- Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to accurately define project scope.
- Analyse and incorporate subcontractor and supplier quotations into overall project estimates.
- Identify, assess, and communicate risk factors within projects and provide recommendations to management.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
- Maintain and develop estimating templates, cost databases, and tracking systems.
- Present and defend estimates to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior estimators and commercial staff.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, labour rates, and material costs to ensure competitive and realistic pricing.
Requirements - Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within the construction industry.
- Strong commercial awareness and in-depth understanding of construction cost structures.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with estimating software is highly advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a busy team environment.
- Full, clean driver's licence.
