Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Electrical Estimating Engineer to lead the pre-construction phase for complex, mission-critical modular power and control systems across global data centres, renewable energy, and industrial process facilities. You will prepare commercial and technical tender return packages, develop accurate cost estimates, advise clients on design options, coordinate with suppliers and sub-contractors, and mentor junior team members. As a lead estimator, you will collaborate closely with operations teams to ensure seamless handover of project requirements, design, and budget information, and provide estimating and technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed electrical and mechanical cost estimations for modular Offsite/OSM projects for Tier 1 contractors, consultant engineers, and OEMs.
Provide technical guidance and training to junior team members.
Consult with clients on technical designs, recommending cost-effective and efficient solutions.
Estimate material costs and labor requirements while ensuring designs align with client budgets.
Engage regularly with suppliers to source materials competitively and occasionally visit suppliers to strengthen relationships and understand the supply chain.
Collaborate with internal engineering, production, and procurement teams to verify costs, specifications, and timelines.
Review client specifications and advise on optimizing materials and designs for cost-efficient modular construction.
Provide pre-construction and conceptual designs for clients as part of tender packages.
Ensure all costs, materials, and design proposals comply with industry standards and internal procedures.
Maintain accurate records of tenders, quotes, and client interactions in the CRM system.
Contribute to sales reporting and maintain accurate CRM data.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary tenders from initial engagement to project award in Data Centre, Renewables, or Process sectors.
Strong communication skills with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
Solid understanding of industrial electrical systems, including LV/MV Switchgear and UPS systems, is advantageous.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, providing support and guidance to junior team members.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
Proficiency in Excel, AutoCAD, SAP, and CRM systems, or willingness to train.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail to present professional proposals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.
5+ years' experience in electrical estimating and pre-construction, including at least 3 years in mission-critical Data Centre, Renewables, or Process industries.
Familiarity with industry standards, electrical codes, and building regulations is desirable.
