Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic construction and property development team in Cork. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing project costs, ensuring value for money, and supporting the delivery of high-quality residential developments.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for construction projects.
  • Monitor and control project expenditures, ensuring projects are delivered within budget.
  • Procure subcontractors and materials, negotiating prices and preparing contracts.
  • Conduct site visits to assess progress, evaluate work, and verify valuations.
  • Prepare interim valuations, final accounts, and cost reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other team members to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide advice on financial implications of design changes.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and health & safety requirements.
Requirements:
  • Relevant degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a residential construction environment.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement procedures, and cost management.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and reporting skills.
  • Proficient in industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Excel, CostX, or similar).
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
