The Opportunity
A well-established and highly regarded construction contractor based in Galway is currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a progressive contractor delivering high-quality projects across multiple sectors.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in the financial management and commercial control of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Full commercial management of construction projects from tender stage to final account
  • Preparation and management of project budgets, cost plans and cash flow forecasts
  • Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, including preparation and analysis of tenders
  • Measurement, valuation and agreement of subcontractor works
  • Preparation and submission of monthly valuations and cost reports
  • Management of variations, claims and change control procedures
  • Assisting with final accounts and project close-out
  • Working closely with site teams, design teams and senior management to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
  • Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor role with a main contractor
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and cost management processes
  • Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant commercial software
