The Opportunity A well-established and highly regarded construction contractor based in Galway is currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a progressive contractor delivering high-quality projects across multiple sectors.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in the financial management and commercial control of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Key Responsibilities - Full commercial management of construction projects from tender stage to final account
- Preparation and management of project budgets, cost plans and cash flow forecasts
- Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, including preparation and analysis of tenders
- Measurement, valuation and agreement of subcontractor works
- Preparation and submission of monthly valuations and cost reports
- Management of variations, claims and change control procedures
- Assisting with final accounts and project close-out
- Working closely with site teams, design teams and senior management to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures
Requirements - Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor role with a main contractor
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and cost management processes
- Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant commercial software
