Job Description
We are a leading specialist in premium metal and glass facades, delivering high-quality design, fabrication, and installation services across Ireland and the UK. With decades of experience in the curtain walling industry, we work on a diverse range of projects, including commercial offices, universities, and healthcare facilities.
We are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our fast-growing, innovative team and support our Commercial department. This is an excellent opportunity to accelerate your career in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage costs on a variety of curtain wall and glazing projects.
  • Engage early in projects, liaising with and advising the tendering team.
  • Review contract terms and conditions, negotiating acceptable terms with clients.
  • Prepare early-stage budgets, cost plans, and cashflow projections.
  • Perform risk, value management, and cost control.
  • Allocate work packages to subcontractors.
  • Manage subcontract procurement, including contract documentation.
  • Administer subcontract packages and agree final accounts.
  • Identify, analyse, and develop responses to commercial risks.
  • Negotiate to ensure budgets are not exceeded.
  • Advise on and produce contractual claims.
  • Value completed work, producing interim valuations and preparing final accounts.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the Construction Contracts Act 2013 (CCA 2013) and contract conditions.
  • Maintain awareness of different building contracts currently in use.
  • Attend project meetings with clients, design teams, and subcontractors.
  • Liaise closely with the site management team regarding day-to-day matters.
  • Ensure Progress Claim Notices (interim valuations) are submitted on time.
  • Follow up with project surveyors to ensure valuation responses are issued promptly.
  • Ensure project surveyors adhere to CCA 2013 timelines.
  • Engage with project surveyors to ensure payments are processed efficiently.
Key Skills & Knowledge
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Buildsoft, CostX, and Bluebeam.
  • Experience managing others.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm, drive, and a proactive approach.
  • Knowledge and experience in curtain walling or the commercial window industry.
