The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join a busy construction team in Galway. This is a fantastic opportunity for a QS to take ownership of the commercial management of high-quality projects, working closely with project managers, clients, and contractors. Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.
  • Conduct site visits to measure and value works, ensuring accuracy in valuations and progress claims.
  • Monitor project budgets, track variations, and provide accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Manage procurement processes, including subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Assist in contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to resolve cost and contract issues efficiently.
  • Prepare regular reports on project financial performance for senior management and clients.
Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction projects, ideally within commercial, residential, or mixed-use developments.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with cost management software is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a busy project team.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
