Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Cork (Site & Office Based)
Overview An established leading international construction and engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on major projects in the Cork region. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile, technically challenging projects within a well-structured and forward-thinking organisation.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing project costs, contractual matters, and commercial performance from pre-contract through to final account.
Key Responsibilities - Manage all commercial aspects of projects from tender stage to final account
- Prepare cost plans, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports
- Procure subcontractors and manage subcontractor accounts
- Measure works and prepare valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Assess and manage commercial risk and opportunity
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures
- Liaise closely with project managers, site teams, design teams, and clients
- Prepare and submit monthly cost/value reports
- Support dispute resolution and claims management where required
Requirements - Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3-5+ years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor role (contractor or consultancy background considered)
- Experience working on large-scale construction or civil engineering projects preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g. RIAI, FIDIC, NEC, or similar)
- Excellent commercial awareness and numerical ability
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficient in MS Excel and commercial software
- Full right to work in Ireland
