Purchasing Coordinator / Administrator - Cork
We are currently seeking a Purchasing Coordinator / Administrator for a full-time permanent position, based in  Ballincollig, Cork. (Head office based)
 
As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in the procurement process, responsible for assisting in the sourcing and purchasing of materials, goods, and services for our company. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of skill and experience in Microsoft excel, verbal written communications and document management.
 
The role will entail:
  • Assist in the sourcing and purchase of construction materials, tools, and services, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
  • Taking purchase requisitions and generating purchase orders within a prescribed purchasing system.
  • Send out enquiries to the supply chain for best prices for all orders.
  • Assist the team in building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and manage contracts.
  • Assist in the tracking procurement costs, monitor expenses, and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate timely material deliveries and manage on-site inventory to avoid delays.
  • Assist the purchase team to liaise closely with site teams and project managers to coordinate large volumes of purchase orders and to ensure material needs align with project schedules.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with regulations and sustainability goals.
The Candidate:
Proven experience in construction administration or similar role, with some experience in purchasing or procurement.
Good experience in handling large volumes of orders or similar tasks with a keen attention to detail.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Microsoft excel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within purchasing team and across departments and levels of the organisation.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to gain knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards in the procurement field.

Experience:
3-5 years of experience in construction administration and / or procurement or a related field.
