Our client is a leading manufacturing company with plants in Fermoy, Longford & Enniskillen in Ireland and Troon, Irvine, Invergordon & Edinburgh in Scotland. In existence since 1913, the group currently employs approximately 910 people. The company operates a state-of-the-art timber processing facility at our plant in Fermoy, Co. Cork. Due to expansion, we are recruiting for a Maintenance Stores / Purchasing Co-ordinator to join our site team, based in Fermoy, reporting to the Maintenance Manager.
Key tasks
Procure mechanical, electrical and consumables goods.
Build and maintain effective relationships with Suppliers in the negotiations of prices for products and ordering and timely delivery of stock.
Create and process purchase orders on our Purchasing PEMAC Computer software System.
Liaise with maintenance and production team in ordering of goods.
Monitor delivery of goods and services, ensuring that delivery documentation is checked against original order placed, and where there are discrepancies or exceptions to the original order take necessary action.
Maintain an effective administration system for storing and accessing information within the stores’ inventory.
Carry out general stores upkeep.
Perform Stock check via our PEMAC System.
Manage Purchasing with a defined budget escalating deviations.
Comply with Health & Safety Rules, Regulations.
Required Skills, Knowledge, Experience:
Good communication skills. An ability to communicate effectively with all plant staff and senior management.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
High level of problem-solving skills and technical awareness.
The ability to use PEMAC system (preferred, not required).
Excellent organisational skills.
Self-motivated and possess the ability to work on your own initiative.
