Due to continued growth, a vacancy now exists for a
Purchaser / Purchasing Assistant based at our Head Office in Galway.
Responsibilities - Obtaining quotes, placing orders, and ensuring agreed rates and terms are established with suppliers to maximise financial efficiency.
- Procuring building materials, processing purchase orders through purchasing software, and following through to the payment stage.
- Procuring and hiring plant required on site, including cabins, forklifts, fencing, transport, etc.
- Managing plant and equipment movement.
- Performing general purchasing administration as required.
- A competitive package is offered to the successful candidate.
Qualifications - Prior experience in a purchasing role within construction or builders' providers is desirable but not essential; knowledge of building materials is advantageous.
- Experience with purchasing processes, purchase orders, and procurement.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A Bachelor's degree in Construction, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus.
