An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join a leading international construction contractor delivering a major project in the Waterford region. This is a key commercial role offering long-term career progression, strong project exposure, and the chance to work within a highly experienced commercial team.
The Role: As Project Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for a flagship project from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with the Commercial Manager and site leadership team.
Key responsibilities include:
Full commercial management of a large-scale construction project
Preparation and control of project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
Procurement and management of subcontract packages
Measurement, valuation, and agreement of subcontractor accounts
Preparation of interim valuations and final accounts
Management of variations, change control, and commercial risk
Contract administration in line with project requirements
Liaising closely with site, design, and senior management teams
Ensuring strong cost control and value engineering throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements:
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
5+ years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, with main contractor experience essential
Proven experience managing projects independently
Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures
Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
