An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join a leading international construction contractor delivering a major project in the Waterford region. This is a key commercial role offering long-term career progression, strong project exposure, and the chance to work within a highly experienced commercial team.
 
The Role:
As Project Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for a flagship project from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with the Commercial Manager and site leadership team.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Full commercial management of a large-scale construction project
  • Preparation and control of project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
  • Procurement and management of subcontract packages
  • Measurement, valuation, and agreement of subcontractor accounts
  • Preparation of interim valuations and final accounts
  • Management of variations, change control, and commercial risk
  • Contract administration in line with project requirements
  • Liaising closely with site, design, and senior management teams
  • Ensuring strong cost control and value engineering throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • 5+ years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, with main contractor experience essential
  • Proven experience managing projects independently
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
