We are working with a well-established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor who is looking to appoint a
Project Engineer to support a growing portfolio of projects across the North West, based from their Manchester operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer who wants hands-on project exposure, strong technical development, and a clear pathway for progression within a major contractor environment.
The Role As Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of civil engineering projects, supporting the Project Manager and site teams to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification. The position offers a strong balance of site-based and engineering responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting planning, coordination, and execution of works on site
- Setting out, surveying, and managing site engineering activities
- Preparing and reviewing method statements, risk assessments, and technical documentation
- Managing subcontractors and liaising with designers and suppliers
- Monitoring progress against programme and reporting on key milestones
- Ensuring quality standards, health & safety, and environmental requirements are met
About You To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience working as a Project Engineer or Site Engineer within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Strong setting out and technical skills
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with good communication skills
- The ability to work collaboratively within a project team
