Our client is a leading Tier 1 building and civil engineering contractor delivering large-scale, high-profile projects across Ireland and the UK.
They are currently seeking an experienced Senior EHS Advisor / Project EHS Lead to join their project leadership team on a major construction project in the heart of Dublin City Centre. 
 
Role Overview
The Project EHS Lead will oversee all aspects of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management on-site. This role requires an experienced professional capable of leading both the EHS and project teams to ensure compliance with all legal, client, and corporate safety requirements. The successful candidate will drive a proactive and innovative safety culture, embedding best practices at every level of the project.
This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping EHS strategy and performance on a landmark project within the city.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all EHS aspects for the Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS).
  • Implement and maintain the company's EHS management systems in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Provide strong, visible, and influential EHS leadership across the project.
  • Promote a culture where safety is integral to every decision and activity.
  • Anticipate potential risks and implement preventative measures before issues arise.
  • Collaborate with the project leadership, construction managers, and subcontractors to ensure consistent EHS standards.
  • Represent the project on all EHS matters with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure full compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Develop and maintain the site-specific EHS Management Plan and associated control measures.
  • Lead inspections, audits, and performance reviews, ensuring corrective actions are effectively implemented.
  • Oversee incident reporting, investigations, root cause analyses, and lessons learned.
  • Identify high-risk activities and emerging hazards, applying strategic foresight to mitigate them.
  • Support and guide the preparation of risk assessments, method statements, and safe work plans.
  • Lead EHS training programs, toolbox talks, and safety campaigns.
  • Build accountability and ownership for safety among supervisors and subcontractors.
  • Monitor and report on key EHS performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Drive continuous improvement and implementation of industry best practices.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Level 8 Higher Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 8-10 years' experience in construction EHS management with a main contractor or PSCS role.
  • Proven experience working on large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and manage risk proactively.
  • Excellent knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 integrated management systems.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent IT proficiency (Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • A collaborative team player with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach.
