Overview: We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor with 1–2 years of industry experience to join a well-established construction contractor based in Limerick. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious QS to develop their skills across a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential projects, working as part of a dynamic commercial team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation.
  • Support senior QS and project managers in procurement and contract administration.
  • Monitor project costs and valuations, including interim payments and final accounts.
  • Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather cost data and assess progress.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of project variations and ensure timely submission of valuations.
  • Participate in site meetings and contribute to cost control and value engineering initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual and legal requirements at all stages of the project.
Requirements:
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 1–2 years' post-graduate experience in a QS role, ideally within the Irish construction industry.
  • Familiarity with standard forms of contract (e.g. RIAI, GCCC, etc.) is desirable.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with measurement or QS software is a plus.
  • Full driving licence preferred (depending on project locations).
