OCS Recruitment is currently partnering with a leading civil engineering and utilities contractor operating across the Southeast of Ireland. Due to continued growth and the award of new long-term infrastructure projects, our client is seeking a Junior Health & Safety Advisor to join their expanding Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental (HSQE) team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated early-career Health & Safety professional to gain hands-on experience across large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects while developing within a structured and supportive organisation.
The role will be based from the company's regional office in Kilkenny, with regular site visits across the Southeast region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in promoting a strong and positive health & safety culture across multiple sites
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of HSQE policies and procedures
  • Help ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and regulations
  • Carry out site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Deliver toolbox talks and support training and coaching of staff and contractors
  • Maintain accurate HSQE documentation using an online EHS management system
  • Provide day-to-day health & safety advice to site teams and management
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across projects
Key Requirements
  • Minimum 6 months' experience in a Health & Safety role within the Irish construction market
    (placement or internship experience will be considered)
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Health & Safety or a related discipline
  • Construction sector experience essential (utilities experience advantageous)
  • Working knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and HSQE best practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident engaging with site teams and contractors
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities
  • Full, valid Irish driver's licence
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider HSQE team
