OCS Recruitment is currently recruiting a proactive Junior Health & Safety Officer to support safety management across a portfolio of commercial and residential construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career safety professional to develop onsite experience and support compliance with legal and company safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and implementation of project Health & Safety Plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
Conduct site safety inspections, toolbox talks, and induction sessions under the guidance of senior H&S personnel.
Monitor and promote safe behaviours in accordance with construction safety standards and legal obligations.
Record, investigate, and report incidents, near‑misses, and hazards.
Maintain up‑to‑date safety documentation and assist with audits and compliance checks.
Support continuous improvement of safety systems and training initiatives.
Requirements
1-3 years' experience in construction health & safety or related environment.
Relevant safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent).
Good understanding of Irish construction safety legislation and best practices.
Confident communicator with strong organisational skills.
Proactive, with ability to work both independently and collaboratively onsite.
