OCS Recruitment is seeking a
Junior Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Officer on behalf of a leading residential construction company. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious EHS professional to build their career within a dynamic and expanding organisation known for delivering high-quality housing and apartment developments across the Dublin region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting EHS management across multiple live construction sites in the Dublin and Greater Dublin area. Reporting directly to the Head of EHS, the Junior EHS Officer will work closely with site management teams to ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards and promote a strong safety culture on site.
Key Responsibilities - Assist in implementing and maintaining the company's EHS management systems across several construction sites.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Support the preparation of site-specific safety documentation, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Assist in incident investigations and reporting, ensuring that findings are documented and preventive measures are put in place.
- Promote safe systems of work and positive safety behaviours among site teams and subcontractors.
- Liaise with the Head of EHS and site managers to ensure continuous improvement in safety performance and compliance with statutory obligations.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and EHS training initiatives.
- Stay up to date with relevant legislation, industry standards, and best practices.
Key Requirements - Third-level qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related discipline (Level 7+ preferred).
- 1-2 years of experience in an EHS role, ideally within the construction sector (placement or internship experience also considered).
- Strong understanding of Irish health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and reporting skills.
- Proactive and professional attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel to multiple sites within the Dublin area.
