Overview:
We're recruiting a proactive Health & Safety Officer for a leading construction and fit‑out firm, known for its award-winning safety culture and excellence across new builds, refurbishments, and clean‑room projects.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with Irish health and safety regulations, including relevant Acts (e.g., Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005) and Construction Regulations 2013.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement safety policies, protocols, Safe Plans of Action, Method Statements (RAMS), and emergency plans tailored to complex projects.
  • Deliver tool-box talks, site inductions, and safety training sessions to employees and subcontractors, reinforcing a proactive safety culture.
  • Identify hazards, investigate incidents and near misses, conduct root cause analysis, and lead corrective/preventive actions.
  • Manage and track safety performance data, key performance indicators, and audit findings to drive continuous improvements.  
Qualifications & Skills:
  • NEBOSH or IOSH-certified in occupational health and safety; additional qualifications (e.g., Manual Handling, Working at Height instruction) are beneficial.
  • Demonstrable experience in construction or fit‑out environments, preferably including sectors like pharmaceuticals or data center projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to lead safety culture and influence teams.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail, and capable of managing project safety documentation and reporting effectively.
