OCS Recruitment is working on behalf of an Irish construction and civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced
Health & Safety Manager. This is a key leadership role, responsible for driving health and safety excellence across multiple active sites in
Dublin and Louth.
The successful candidate will play a central role in promoting a strong safety culture while ensuring full compliance with Irish health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
Role Overview The Health & Safety Manager will have overall responsibility for the development, implementation and monitoring of health and safety systems across projects in the Dublin and Louth regions. Working closely with project managers, site teams and senior management, you will ensure that safety standards are consistently achieved and continuously improved.
Key Responsibilities - Develop, implement and maintain company-wide health & safety policies, procedures and management systems
- Ensure full compliance with Irish H&S legislation, codes of practice and client requirements
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments across Dublin & Louth sites
- Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations and implement corrective actions
- Deliver health & safety training, site inductions and toolbox talks
- Provide ongoing advice and guidance to site management, engineers and subcontractors
- Maintain accurate records, reports and safety documentation
- Promote a proactive and positive health & safety culture across all operations
- Liaise with external auditors, regulatory authorities and clients as required
Requirements - Degree or recognised qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline
- NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH or equivalent professional certification
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar Health & Safety role within construction or civil engineering
- Strong working knowledge of Irish health & safety legislation
- Proven experience managing health & safety across multiple live sites
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
- Ability to influence and engage with teams at all levels
- Full clean driving licence (essential)
