OCS are working with a leading multi-utility and civil engineering contractor that is looking to appoint a
Health & Safety Advisor to cover a busy regional portfolio of projects, primarily based in and around
Cambridge, with additional sites extending up to
King's Lynn and down to
Southend-on-Sea.
This is a key regional role supporting approximately
30 live sites, making it ideal for a proactive, site-focused Health & Safety professional who enjoys variety, autonomy, and regular engagement with operational teams.
The Role
As Health & Safety Advisor, you will work closely with site management and project teams to promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance across all works.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing day-to-day Health & Safety support across multiple live sites
- Conducting site inspections, audits, and safety tours
- Advising site teams on safe systems of work, RAMS, and method statements
- Supporting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions
- Delivering toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Monitoring compliance with company procedures and HSE legislation
- Producing reports and tracking Health & Safety performance
- Building strong relationships with site managers and supervisors
About You
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
- Experience working as a Health & Safety Advisor within utilities, civil engineering, or construction environments
- Strong site presence and confidence engaging with operational teams
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to Health & Safety
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel regionally
