OCS Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced
Health & Safety Advisor for a
PAYE position on an
18-month fixed-term contract, supporting a major project on a
live medical device manufacturing facility in Cork.
This role is suited to a Health & Safety professional looking for
PAYE employment stability while working in a highly regulated and safety-critical environment.
The Role The successful candidate will provide
on-site Health & Safety support to project and site teams, ensuring full compliance with
Irish Health & Safety legislation, client EHS standards, and site procedures within a live operational facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day Health & Safety guidance and support on site
- Ensure compliance with Irish legislation, company procedures, and client EHS standards
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Review and approve Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS)
- Support incident and near-miss investigations and implement corrective actions
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
- Liaise with project management, contractors, and client EHS representatives
- Promote a proactive and positive safety culture
- Maintain accurate H&S records, reports, and documentation
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar Health & Safety role
- Experience working on live medical device or pharmaceutical facilities is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently within a project environment
- Safe Pass (essential); additional training/certifications an advantage
